Aflraunakappinn Hinrik Ingi Óskarsson sendi frá sér tilkynningu á Instagram í dag þar sem hann segist ekki hafa verið að nota ólögleg lyf eftir að hann féll á lyfjaprófi eftir Reykjavik CrossFit Championship í vor.
Hinrik Ingi tryggði sér þáttökurétt á heimsleikunum sem hófust í dag í Madison með sigrinum í Reykjavík en féll á lyfjaprófi sem tekið var stuttu síðar. Efnin Ostarine og RAD-140 fundust í sýni Hinriks.
Í tilkynningunni sem Hinrik birti á Instagram í dag gefur hann til kynna að hann hafi ekki heldur fallið á lyfjaprófi eftir mót á Íslandi árið 2016 en eftirmálar þess máls hafi gert það að verkum að hann hafi haft hægt um sig.
Hann hafi fengið annað tækifæri til að sanna sig í vor og ekki verið tilbúinn að fórna því með því að taka inn ólögleg efni. Þá gefur Hinrik til kynna að CrossFit sé einkafyrirtæki sem hugsi um að græða sem mestan pening og ráði því hverjir komast á leikana og gagnrýnir um leið starf lyfjaeftirlits CrossFit.
Að lokum segist hann ekki vera hættur og stefni á að koma sterkari til baka ásamt því að óska öllum þáttakendum heimsleikanna í CrossFit góðs gengis.

❗️PART 1 ❗️ I would like to wish all the contestants at the Crossfit Games all the best but at the same time I would like to make the following statement: - 1. I have never used illegal substances and that is why my team and I appealed the outcome of the drug test that was conducted and we continue to look for answers. 2. It is untrue that I had ever failed a drug test before or that I was ever banned by Crossfit International. The truth is that because of personal conflict between me and some other people, owners of some of the Crossfit affiliates in Iceland would not allow me to train there. So all statements that I was failing a drug test for the second time are simply false. 3. After I competed at the Crossfit championships in Iceland in 2016, I was registered on a list that allowed Crossfit to drug test me where and whenever they would so please. I welcomed that decision because I had and have nothing to hide. 4. In May 2019 I got the opportunity to prove myself all over again. I knew for sure that I would be tested at the competition and I would never risk my athletic future and my livelihood, by using illegal substances. My strengths are my motivation, drive and ambitions and therefore I welcomed the opportunity to be tested, but was baffled by the outcome of the test. - ❗️PART 2 in next post❗️➡️

❗️PART 2 ❗️ — 5. I had to take the long road to be able to get back among the best. If I would have known the difficulties that followed the conflict I got involved with in 2016, I would of course have handled it differently. I simply underestimated the response and apologize for that. I woke up every morning with only one goal in mind and that was that I wanted to prove that I belonged up there with the best. I would never have taken any chances to jeopardize that. 6. It is important to remember that Crossfit International is a private organization with profit as the main goal. They can basically control how they want to play this game and who they would like to see at the Crossfit games. Serious questions can for example be raised about the process they have during their drug testing and the fact that they can select what they want to do with the outcome of the tests that they conduct. 7. And to the people that have implied that I have used illegal substances I just want to say that you are wrong. Very few, if any, have put as much work and dedication into their training as I have. I had the goal to earn a place at the Crossfit Games and I did that. My goal this year was to gain experience but then come back even stronger next year so I had a long-time plan. 8. Four years is a long time in the life of an athlete but this will not be the last time you see of Hinrik Ingi Óskarsson that is for sure. But again, I would like to wish all the Crossfit competitors all the best and I sincerely wish that they will enjoy their time at the Crossfit games.
