The National Commissioner of Police's Civil Protection Department and the Icelandic Meteorological Office hold a press conference in Katrínartún 2, Reykjavík at 16.00 today due to a possible eruption in Reykjanes peninsula. Víðir Reynisson, head of Civil Protection, and Kristín Jónsdóttir, team leader for operational natural hazard monitoring, will speak at the meeting.

Arrangements will be the same as for the COVID-19 briefings. The media are welcome in the house but are requested to keep the numbers from each media to a minimum. Civil protection staff will control access to the area and ensure compliance with the current COVID prevention measures. Masks will be worn.

The meeting will be simultaneously translated into Polish and sign language for the hearing impaired.
